In its annual report for 2004, Electronic Business magazines reports on the top 30 fastest growing companies based on their 3 year annual revenue growth rate. This year's list was just released and MontaVista Software made the list. Only 2 other private companies made this list.

MontaVista Software was selected by AlwaysOn as one of the AO100 Top Private Companies 2004 in the “Business Software” category. AlwaysOn is a media company that covers innovation in technology and business. Their editors, with the assistance of KPMG 1Start, compiled a list of more than 1,000 venture investors, investment bankers, and top executives.

MontaVista Software was recognized in June 2002, by the prestigious French publication "Electronique,” which named MontaVista™ Linux® Professional Edition 2.1 as the Best Embedded Tool and Development Solution for 2002. MontaVista Software was recognized for its invaluable work in optimizing Linux for embedded and real-time applications - especially for its development of the preemptible kernel and the real-time scheduler.

MontaVista Software was selected by the San Jose Business Journal as one of the "Fastest Growing Private Companies of 2002 in Silicon Valley". MontaVista was #5 on the list announced in October 2003.

When Electronic Business compiled the Best 30 companies of 2002, MontaVista Software was selected for significant customer acquisition. MontaVista was 3rd on this list among the top 10 private companies.

 

The Wakamaru robot from Mitsubishi, powered by MontaVista Linux, was selected as the "Best Embedded Linux System" at the inaugural LinuxUser & Developer Awards. These awards were presented at the Network Industry Awards ceremony in Birmingham on the 24th of June 2003. The winners were selected by the judges from nominations by readers of LinuxUser & Developer magazine.

In Fall 2002, MontaVista Software was selected by Communications Systems Design for their annual Comet Awards. The third annual Comet awards honor companies that have the vision, focus, technology and risk-taking mentality to help them become significant players in the communications market.

At Linux World and Expo, Jan 2002 in New York, IDG World Expo and the UniForum Association awarded MontaVista Software the Best Embedded Linux Solutions for MontaVista Linux 2.0. These awards recognize achievements by the Open Source community.

MontaVista Software was selected to Upside's Hot 100 list for 2002. This year, the list comprises companies with promising technologies, solid business models, and meaningful growth over the past 12 months—a monumental achievement in this economic climate.

In November 2002, Linux Journal awarded the Reader's Choice Award for Best Embedded Distribution to MontaVista Linux.

At Comdex 2000, Linux Journal and LINUX Business Expo awarded the Penguin Playoff Awards for Best Embedded Solution to MontaVista Hard Hat Linux.

In November 2001, Linux Journal awarded the 2001 Editor's Choice award to MontaVista Software for the Best Real-Time tool.
