MontaVista Software Joins SCOPE Alliance to Help Enable Open, Interoperable Carrier Grade Software

Provider of MontaVista® Linux® Carrier Grade Linux Edition endorses SCOPE's vision

Santa Clara, Calif. – October 8, 2007 – MontaVista® Software, Inc. the leading provider of Linux® for intelligent devices and communications infrastructure, announced today that the company has joined the nonprofit SCOPE Alliance, an association of leading Network Equipment Providers (NEPs) with the mission of enabling and promoting the availability and interoperability of open carrier grade base platforms based on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) building blocks. SCOPE is a program of the IEEE Industry Standards and Technology Organization (IEEE-ISTO).
